Scott Newport is now on a solo musical journey in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Scott Newport Project is his new music adventure exploring a variety of styles that he grew up with. Scott does all the vocals and instruments on his new Scott Newport Project making it a true one man band effort. Also recording and producing his own music. A true Downtown Vegas Rock & Roll renaissance man , Scott brings a unique history of experience to The Scott Newport Project that is timeless and excitingly fresh . In 1969 Scott Newport started playing music in The Newport Family Band , the Newport brothers Jack, Steve and Scott along with their parents John and Peggy Newport created The Newport Family Band. In 1976 Steve (Doc Rock) and Scott (Screamin' Scott) created VIPER in Burlington New Jersey, They enjoyed a dedicated following and were THE band to see on the East Coast music scene in the late 70's early 80's. The brothers Newport reformed VIPER in 2000 and released four cd's , Da Boyz R Makin' Noize, More Noize from Da Boyz , Ten Virgin Nippletts and Rockin' The Block. The VIPER name was retired in 2012 when Steve Newport AKA Doc Rock passed away from cancer. Scott's new music is dedicated to his musical partner in crime for over forty years his late brother Steve Newport.
